- Size grading! Pistons in each set are matched and are clearly marked. You are assured of proper clearance without measuring, grading, or hand fitting.
- Controlled weight! Pistons in each set are matched to +/- 2.0 grams, for proper engine balance.
- Compensated ring grooves! Grooves are machined to a constant depth when the skirt is machined, to insure consistent ring clearance, reducing blow-by and oil consumption, and lengthening ring life.
- Fitted wrist pins! Wrist pins are cold forged for strength and grade fitted to each piston to assure proper pin to pin bore clearances. Many Enginetech pins are .0005" (one-half thousandth) oversized to compensate for wear in the small end of the connecting rods. Electronic gauging of the pin and pin bore assures control of exact clearances.
- Precise machining! Pistons are diamond-turned rather than ground to assure exact size, precise skirt profile and superior finish which are critical to good scuff resistance during break-in and overall endurance.
- Compression height compensated! Most pistons are decked .020" to compensate for head and block resurfacing and also for oversizing the cylinders. This compensation keeps compression ratios close to the original specifications which reduces detonation related problems.
- Precision-cast / machined chambers! State-of-the-art machining and superior as-cast finishes give a professional appearance and help prevent pre-ignition by eliminating rough edges and hot spots.
